Lorraine Young
November 20, 1924 – June 13, 2021

Lorraine Young, 96, of Harrington Park, NJ, passed away on Sunday, June 13th, 2021. Lorraine is survived by her sister, Joan Berberian, with whom she spoke every day; and her loving sons James Young III and his life partner Joyce Williams, and Robert Young and his wife, Melinda, who was both a devoted daughter in-law and good friend to Lorraine; her grandchildren Kristin Massaro and her husband Tommy, Kim Mongiovi and her husband Mark, David, Sean, Brittany, Michael and Joey as well as her great-grandchildren TJ Massaro, Nicolette Massaro, Dominic Massaro, Joey Mongiovi and Liam. She is predeceased by her parents Haig and Florence Buruchian, her high school sweetheart and beloved husband James Young Jr., her loving daughter, Barbara Young and her grandchildren Christopher and Amanda.

Lorraine was President of her senior class and was involved in many of the clubs and activities during her time at Wood-Ridge High School. She remained close to her large group of friends and relatives from her childhood, and always enjoyed getting together with them. She was especially fond of her "Cactus Club" from Wood-Ridge High, a group of friends with whom she spent much time over the years as they all raised their families in Bergen County, NJ. Lorraine was intelligent, wise and fiercely independent, living on her own and managing her affairs even at the age of 96.

Her biggest passion in life was her family. Family always came first, and she was totally dedicated to her three children, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She never missed sending a birthday card, and always looked forward to family gatherings at the holidays and special celebrations. Perhaps the greatest tribute to her life is the deep devotion and love that her entire family has for her and the values that they developed as a result of the examples that she set.

The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood, NJ on Saturday, June 19th from 10-11AM. A Celebration of Lorraine's life and faith will commence at 11AM with interment at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ to follow. Please share fond memories and condolences.
