Services for Wilson M. Payne, 79, of Levelland will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Michael Holmes officiating.

Burial will follow in City of Levelland Cemetery under the direction of Geo. C. Price Funeral Directors.

He died Thursday, March 21, 2002.

He was born May 19, 1922, in Scurry County. He married Phyllis Mae Pepmiller on July 1, 1950, in Albuquerque, N.M. She died in 1981. An Air Force veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he worked for Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque for many years. He moved to Levelland from Cedar Crest, N.M., in 1979.

Survivors include a son, Scott of Abilene; a daughter, Sharyn Kaye Cain of Charlotte, N.M.; two sisters, Vivian "Pete" Poston of Ruidoso, N.M., and Thelma Armstrong of Lubbock; two brothers, E.C. Jr. of Levelland and Vernon of Waco; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
