Wayne Nathaniel Brown Sr., 63, of Marriottsville, MD, passed away unexpectedly on June 10, 2021. Affectionately known as "Butch," he was born on March 9, 1958, to the late Thomas Elmer Brown and Catherine Brown. Butch leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife and soulmate Tina Marie Brown, loving children Shantel Marie Brown, Wayne Nathaniel Brown, Jr. and his wife Patrina, Justin Michael Brown and Jordan Deonte' Brown, and one grandchild Aiden Anthony Brown. Also surviving are his aunt Mary H. Hawkins, mother-in-law Mary Louise Spencer, four brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, a host of nieces and nephews, other family, friends, and classmates. Butch was preceded in death by his stepson Christopher Anthony Norris.

Growing up in Howard County, Maryland, Butch received his education in the Howard County Public School system. After graduation from Glenelg High School, he went on to work as a licensed auto technician for several years at Ollie's Body Shop in Catonsville, MD. After the death of his mentor and friend Ollie Jones, Butch owned and operated Butch's Auto business for the remainder of his life. Butch met Tina Spencer in 1980, and they settled down in Marriottsville soon after. A true family man to the core, Butch had an incredibly unique bond with each of his children. Butch cherished moments spent with his first grandchild Aiden and was never seen without his son Justin by his side.

One of Butch's favorite pastimes was spent at 75/80 and Capital Raceway, watching Drag Car Races. Butch loved the racetracks so much they all called him "Racer Brown." An avid Ravens fan, Butch enjoyed watching football and basketball mixed in with a little trash-talking. He loved attending family cookouts. Butch had a kind and genuine heart and a wonderful sense of humor. Those who knew him knew that he LOVED to laugh. Butch had a distinct laugh that was contagious. Over the years, his laugh affectionately became a staple at family events. When his chuckle filled a room, you would laugh simply because Butch was laughing.

With a knack for storytelling, Butch loved to recall the day he and Tina met. He met Tina on June 16, 1980, at Sykesville Carnival. A story many may have memorized because he told it every year to everyone, over and over again. Tina and Butch have been together for 41 years, and on May 6, 2021, celebrated 32 years of marriage. They enjoyed vacationing together, especially in Ocean City, MD. With a constant smile, Butch had a friendly personality and was liked by all. He appreciated fellowship amongst family, and throughout his lifetime, he made many lifelong friends. He always talked about his "Ace Boone Coons", Anthony Dorsey (aka Gus), Angelo Miles (aka Al), Allen Jackson, Michael Johnson, and Johnny Parker. His favorite cousins, Danielle Tetteh, Charles Thomas, Jr., (aka Junior), Marvin Dorsey, and Lawrence King. Anthony Norris (aka Pee Wee) and Michael Randall were his childhood friends as Hanky Norris would always take them to the Sportsman Hall skating rink. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

On Friday, June 18, 2021, the family will hold a public viewing from 1:00 - 2:00 PM and a private service for the family at 2:00 PM at the Haight Funeral Home and Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd, Eldersburg, MD 21784.
