Joseph Landon died in this city at the home of William Coe, on Monday morning at 1 o'clock. Death was due to cancer. The deceased was born near Williamsburg, Pennsylvania, on September 8th, 1821. When about four years of age he removed with his parents to Ohio. In 1845 they removed to Boone County and settled first in Des Moines Township and later in Dodge Township. About twelve years ago they removed to this city. On May 27, 1892, Mrs. Landon died. Since then Mr. Landon has lived in various places. Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Landon. Six are dead, one son and five daughters. Four are living, three sons and one daughter, William of this city, Ed and Warren of Wichita, Kansas, and Mrs. Emma Landon of Arcadia, Nebraska. All were present at the deathbed but the two Kansas sons. The funeral was held Wednesday at 10 o'clock from the late residence to the M.E. church at Mineral Ridge at 12:30 o'clock. Services were conducted by Rev. O.F. Shaw and interment in the cemetery at this place.
