Obituary for Gilbert Wilburn Bacon
Gilbert Wilburn Bacon, age 91 of Talihina, Oklahoma passed away from this life on June 10th, 2021. Wilburn was born on December 2nd, 1929 in Whitesboro OK to Josephine (Woods) and Roosevelt Theodore Bacon. Wilburn enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country in the Korean War during 1952-1953. After returning from service, he married the love of his life, Carol Nichols and they began their life journey together. Wilburn was a loving family man who never met a stranger and loved to socialize and make people laugh. Wilburn was considered an honorable man and proud of his Choctaw Heritage. He enjoyed traveling, but only within the 25 mile radius of Talihina. Wilburn will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Wilburn is survived by his children, Hoyit Bacon of Grove, OK, Marta Bacon and Cindy Huston of Mustang, OK, Whitney Bacon and wife Becky of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, David Miller, Zac Skiles, and Garrett Bacon; great grand children, Kyndal Carolina, Luna Skiles, and Whitney Skiles; sisters, Melba Bowman, Thelma Johnson and Jerline Flowers as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Wilburn is preceded in passing by his parents, Josephine and Roosevelt Bacon; wife, Carol Bacon; four brothers, Theodore Bacon, Everett Bacon, Leonard Bacon, and Elmer Bacon and one sister, Imogene Owens.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 14th, 2021 from 5:00PM to 8:00 PM at McCarn Funeral Home in Talihina, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be Brian Davis, Tim Davis, David Miller, Allen Bacon, David Bacon and Zac Skiles
Honorary Pallbearer is Garrett Bacon

Services will be on Tuesday, June 15th, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Greenhill Baptist Church in Talihina with Bro. Raymond Johnson and Bro. Artis Potts officiating. Interment will follow at Old City Cemetery in Talihina, OK. Services have been entrusted to McCarn Funeral Service of Talihina, Oklahoma.
