Dorothy Mae Erickson, 94, of Rochester went to be with her Savior on June 10, 2021 at Field Crest Assisted Living in Hayfield, Minnesota.

Dorothy Mae (Kyllo) Erickson was born on May 2, 1927 in Canisteo Township (Kasson) Dodge County, the daughter of John and Stella (Moe) Kyllo. On January 31, 1948 Dorothy married Delbert I. Erickson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

Dorothy graduated from Teacher Training School in Austin, MN and then taught for a short time in a country school. Dorothy and Delbert owned and operated Del's Superette on West Center Street in Rochester until 1968. For many years she served as bookkeeper/treasurer for Hauge Lutheran Innermission Federation.

Dorothy was a founding member of Gethsemane Lutheran Brethren Church (now True Life Church). She was active in many areas of the church, served as a Bible Study leader with BSF and Bible Study leader at Gramercy Park.

Dorothy is survived by three sons, Darryl of Muscatine, Iowa; David (Jennifer) of North Fort Myers, Florida; Tim (Melanie) of Rochester; one daughter Sharon (Cal) Hiebert of McHenry, Illinois; eleven grandchildren and 19 (another due this fall) great grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Burt Bloomington, MN; Carol McCaleb (Paul Maass), Rochester; and Becky Sprung, New York City.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; daughter-in-law, Karen and an infant stillborn son - Jonathan.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021 at True Life Church 2204 22nd St. NW, Rochester, MN 55901 with an hour of visitation prior. Burial will follow the service at Grandview Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to True Life Church or Echo.
