On September 29, 2020, John Everett Akins ("Jack") ashes were laid to rest at the Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery in Watertown, Minnesota, United States of America. John Everett Akins was always called "Jack" by his family. He was born on February 28, 1934, in Watertown, Carver County, Minnesota, USA, and died on January 26, 2019, at his home at 3205 Wellington Lane N. in Plymouth, Hennepin County, Minnesota, 55441, USA. His father was Everett Edwin Akins, who was born on February 7, 1901, in Helena, Lewis and Clark County, Montana, USA, and died on January 24, 1988, in Watertown, Carver County, Minnesota, USA. His mother was Jennie Elnida Dahlgren (Akins), also known as "Jean" She was born on August 24, 1900, in Grasston, Pine, Minnesota, USA, and died on July 18, 1961, in Watertown, Carver County, Minnesota, USA.
Jack Akins was married 3 times. His wife is Phyllis Marie Kaubisch Burdette (married in 1992) and his stepsons are Chad and Scott Burdette. He was also previously married to Lynda Beth Henderson (Akins) (married 1964-1984). They had 4 children (Mark Raymond Akins, Heidi Marie Akins, Steven John Akins, Dawn Christine Akins) and adopted 2 children (Chad David Akins, Amy Lynn Akins). Jack was also buried near his great-grandfather (Jonas Peter Akins) and his great-grandmother (Johanna Sophia Akins, née Oberg).
