Patrick Martin O'Donnell was born April 22, 1944, in Birmingham, AL. He passed away peacefully on December 10, 2018, surrounded by his family. He attended parochial schools graduating from John Carroll High School before going on to the University of Alabama where he finished with a degree in finance. After college, BTNB and SouthTrust Bank continued his education by sending him to the National Commercial Lending School and Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He pursued a lifelong career in the financial services industry, giving over 42 years. He adored all of his colleagues he worked with at SouthTrust, including his mentor Wallace Malone. Pat had a constant thirst for knowledge and learning which he shared with his son. Hunting and fishing and the great outdoors were his passions. His dream-come-true was building The Mountain House. His greatest hope was to live long enough to be a dominant influence in the lives of his beloved grandsons. He was a member of The Country Club of Birmingham and donated his time to various organizations. Pat was the 5th of 8 children of Mr. and Mrs. John Huber O'Donnell Sr. (deceased). Pat is survived by his wife, Libby of 49 years, 4 months and 8 days, his daughter and son-in law, his two grandsons, and his son and daughter-in-law, as well as his siblings.
