Carolyn Lou (Mayo) Harvey was born prematurely Friday, December 9, 1932, at St. Luke's Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri, to Farnum Gordon Mayo (preceded in 1994) and Elfa Rose (Telin) Mayo (preceded 2000). Friday morning, August 21, 2020, Carolyn went to be with the Lord at Carlyle Senior Care in Aiken, South Carolina. Carolyn was a graduate of Butte public high school class in 1951. Fred Harvey was married to Carolyn for 41 years, since 1962, until his passing December 31, 2004, in Butte, Montana.

Retiring from 16 years employment from the Mountain Bell Telephone Company as a supervisor, after years as a telephone operator gave her many interesting stories assisting famous personalities or assisting in cases of emergency. Her years as a President's Club Avon Representative enlarged her circle of friends from "the Hill" to "the Flat" that she truly enjoyed giving of herself to others in all she ever did.

Activities of the Eastern Star Ruth Chapter No. 2 for 30 years from 1978 until 2008. Her family had a fox farm at the Columbia Gardens East Butte which encouraged her to be a member of the reunion board in 2004. Meticulous sewing was a passion of hers where if any of her handiwork: garments, quilts, crocheting, knitting, tatting, etc. was not "perfect" she would "rip it out" until it laid seamless even if it were a fully lined tailored suit or a baby bunting. A legacy for her children, siblings, family or friends of rich handmade candies, baked goods, meals all prepared with love and decadently wrapped was shared until 2019.
Siblings preceding her were her sister, Marilyn Martel of Galena Park, Texas in 1984, a baby brother James Mayo of Anchorage, Alaska, and her eldest brother Howard F. Mayo of Portland, Oregon, March 5, 2019.
Survivors are her brother Gene Mayo of Orchard, Washington; children: Charles "Charlie" Cline of Casper, Wyoming; Lawrence "Larry" Cline (Kerry) of Hillsboro, Oregon; Cindy Williams (Ken) of Aiken, South Carolina; 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and nieces, nephews all dearly treasured. Carolyn's surviving extended family is also including Paul and Pam Cote with their daughter Haley Cote of Butte, Montana. Her journey in the south could not have been as precious without her church family Mariel Meyers, Zula Plummer, Val Cosby and Pamela Yates.
Mrs. Harvey will be cremated and plans for a memorial service are to be announced at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers: donations to St. Jude's Children Hospital or FOTAS of Aiken in remembrance of her as her deep love for animals.
