Stephen, 70, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Monday, June 7, 2021, at home with family under the care of Heartland Hospice.
A Memorial Mass for Steve will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, June 12, with Fr. Don Henkes officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow at Clark Family Funeral Chapel under the Tent in the West Lawn. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, June 11, 2021. Visitation will continue at the church the day of the service until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation, Sacred Heart Church, or the Alzheimer's Association.
Steve was the son of Howard and Virginia (Gross) Jackson. He married Yvonne Marie Lobsinger on February 7, 1970 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. Steve owned Jackson Bulldozing.
Steve is survived by his wife of 51 years, Yvonne; children, Scott Jackson, Lori (Ben) Washabaugh, Jill (Justin) Stankewicz, and Stephanie Jackson; and grandchildren, Isabel, Simon, Jacob, Seth, Andrew, Elijah, and Ainsley.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, George and Katherine Lobsinger; brother, Bruce; and sister, Lynnette.
Steve was born in Mt. Pleasant on August 14, 1950 and grew up in Weidman. After graduating from Beal City High School, he married the love of his life, Yvonne, on February 7, 1970 and they lived in Mt. Pleasant where they raised their four children. Steve started Jackson Bulldozing Incorporated in 1972 and made many lifelong friends doing what he loved.
Steve will always be remembered for his signature smile and his contagious laugh. He loved playing on his "big toys", making extra large breakfasts for his family, and cooking his famous sloppy joes. He enjoyed golfing with his buddies and traveling with his wife. He could be found hunting at his cabin, spending time with his grandchildren and chasing after his furry friends, Seven, Loki and Oreo.
The family would like to express an extra special thank you to Bonnie Fritz and Heartland Hospice who graciously helped care for him during the last few months. We would also like to thank our "guardian angels" Kevin Clare and Marilyn Zeien for always being there in our family's time of need.
