Patrick Dennis Conley
Saturday, May 4th, 1935 – Thursday, June 10th, 2021

Patrick Dennis Conley, 86, of Pensacola was called to the Lord's Home on June 10, 2021. Pat was born in Richwood, West Va. to Berenice Brown Booher and Patrick A. Conley on May 4, 1935.

Pat's first job was with the Bob Evans' family in a bakery in Galapolis, OH. It was during the Korean War that Pat, then 17, joined the United States Air Force. In 1956, he met and fell in love with his wife Marlene. During their 64 years of marriage, they experienced many amazing adventures together in their travels around the country. Two of their fondest tours were Elemendorf A.F.B. in Anchorage, Alaska where their daughter Sharon was born; and Hickam A.F.B. Honolulu, where their daughter Lori was born.

Pat also served during the Vietnam War in Cam Ranh Bay. He was a highly skilled mechanic and Crew Chief with the 557th Tactical Fighter Squadron. While there, Pat received the Bronze Star along with numerous other accommodations. Pat retired after 23 years and was then employed by Northrop Worldwide. With Northrop, he worked in management of Department of Defense aircraft contracts with NASA, the US Navy and the US Air Force. Pat and Marlene returned to their home in Pensacola when he retired in 1998.

Pat was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection and served as Council President three times, as well as Elder and Usher. Mr. Pat was also happy to assist his youngest daughter with extra honey dos at Resurrection Christian Care Center in the early 2000s and he was loved dearly by the children. One of his proudest accomplishments was being a part of the planning and construction of the new Church on Blue Angel Pkwy.

Pat was a proud member of The American Legion Post 240 and served as chaplain. He considered it an honor and a privilege to serve God by ministering to other veterans and their families in their times of need.

Pat was preceded in death by his infant son, Michael; his daughter, Kathleen; his parents; his sister, Mary Joe Donald; and his brother, Joseph "Brownie" Booher.

Pat is survived by his wife, Marlene; his daughters, Sharon (Shea) Cooksey of LaPorte, TX, and Lori (Tim) Paré of Pensacola; his sister, Anna Laurestine "Larkie" Hollis and sister-in-law, Vada Booher also of Pensacola. He loved his granddaughters, Amanda and Lauren and his great grandson, Jackson. Pat loved his family with all his heart, and he will be missed by many including his nieces, nephews and dear friends across the country.

The family would like to thank Pastor Nathan Ragazinskas for his comfort and ministry during their grief.

Funeral will be held at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection on Blue Angel Pkwy. Monday, June 21, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. with visitation at 11:30 am. Procession with the American Legion Riders to Barrancas National Cemetery will be immediately following.

"The strife is over, the battle done. The victory of life is won; the song of triumph has begun. Alleluia!"
