John James "Jack" Mahoney, Jr., age 87, of Peshtigo, WI, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Aurora Bay Area Medical Center of Marinette, WI. He was born Oct. 11, 1933, to the late John James Mahoney and Edith (Despins) Mahoney in Chicago, Illinois.
He graduated from Campion High School in Prairie du Chien, WI in 1952 and attended St. Norbert College for two years.
He married Alice Cameron on Oct. 11, 1958, in Massapequa, N.Y. and was a member of St. Mary Parish in Peshtigo.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alice;
two daughters: Maggie (Joe VanLinden) Mahoney of Marquette, MI and Kate (Joe) LaPierre of Porterfield, WI;
two sons: Brian K. Mahoney of Marquette, MI and Dan (Elizabeth) Mahoney of Carrollton, Ky.;
five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son John James Mahoney III .
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary Parish in Peshtigo on Thursday, May 2 at 1 p.m., with Rev. Jess Berdol officiating.
