"William Henry Garrison, 55, of Hayesville received his peace in the valley on Thursday, June 10, 2021, following a brief illness.

William was a bright, shining light in his family circle. He always found a reason to smile or crack a joke, even on the darkest of days. On every Sunday for over 50 years, William could be found at Sunday School and Worship Service at Moss Memorial Baptist Church. He loved his church family so much, and his presence will be sorely missed in the congregation. William loved everyone he met. His aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and special friends were the highlight of his life. William was well-known for his love of NASCAR, trucks, and country and gospel music.

William is preceded in death by his father, Glen Henry Garrison; grandparents, Fred and Esta Garrison and Garfield and Madge Postell; and several aunts and uncles.

Surviving are his mother and faithful caregiver, Dale Postell Garrison; two sisters, Denise Garrison and Midge Roach and husband, Dale, all of Hayesville; a brother, Herman Garrison, of Hayesville; nephew, Matthew Roach, of Hayesville; two nieces, Anna Grace Owen and husband, David, of Lake Toxaway and Danielle West, of Andrews; a great-niece, Adreona Shook, of Hayesville; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would also like to recognize his caregivers who stood by his side throughout his sickness- his sister, Denise Garrison, his aunt, Becky Cutshaw, Sabrina Huskins, and all of the wonderful staff at Four Seasons Hospice.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Moss Memorial Baptist Church in Hayesville with Revs. Charles Shelton, Matthew Roach, Derek Tilley, and Eddie Duckworth officiating. Special music will be provided by Mike Garrett, Matthew Roach, and Derek and Charlotte Tilley. Interment will be at the Moss Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Charlie Blaine, Robert Gee, Ronnie Smith, Laney Cutshaw, David Owen, and Danny Gee. Honorary pallbearers include the men of Moss Memorial Baptist Church, uncles, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:45 PM on Sunday afternoon prior to the services.
