Linda Sue Adkins, age 73 of Newport, passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2021.

Born October 25, 1947 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late James and Hazel (Laws) Parker. Linda went to Wirt High School in Gary, Indiana and graduated in 1965. After spending many years together, Linda married the love of her life, Sid Adkins, on June 29, 2000 near their favorite place in Mio, Michigan. They spent many wonderful years together before his passing.

Linda was a member of First Christian Baptist Church of Newport. She was also a lifetime member of the VFW of Newport and a member of the Monroe Moose Lodge Chapter 174. Linda loved going out to breakfast and playing bingo. One of her favorite things was going to her cabin in Mio, Michigan for Labor Day, Memorial Day, and especially in October to see the fall colors. She also enjoyed being able to wake up and look out her window at Lake Erie.

To cherish her memory, Linda leaves her daughter, Cathy Bryan; grandson, Jack Doyle; sister, Jane Maynard; several nieces, nephews, and in-laws; and special extended family: Mickey, Kim, and Kenzie Patton.

Along with her parents and husband, Linda is preceded in death by her son, Joshua Alan Bryan, and sisters: Peggy, Jimmie, and Shirley.

In accordance with Linda's wishes cremation has taken place. Everyone is invited to a memorial service at 1:30 pm on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at First Christian Baptist Church of Newport. Officiating is Pastor Cliff Ervin. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home.
