Alvin Thomas Morton, Jr., 94, husband of Freda Imogene Dooley Morton, went to be with his Savior June 9, 2021. He was born September 12, 1926 in Shelbyville, KY. He was a son of Alvin Thomas Morton, Sr. of Powell County and Inez Nevada Wills Morton of Montgomery County. Mr. Morton was a Korean War Veteran. He served as SFC U.S. Army 45th Infantry from 1950-1952. After his service he returned to Lexington and went into business with his brothers. He met and married Imogene Dooley, his wife of 68 years. He later became owner and President of Eagle Window Sales 1958-1988. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He provided many life experiences for his family from boating, fishing, golf and plenty of beach time! He was preceded in death by his son, James Anthony Morton; granddaughter, Whitney Morton Sachs; a great grandson, William "Bill Bill" Cooper; as well as four brothers, James, John, Donny and Paul; and five sisters, Peggy, Mary, Thelma, Betty and Patty. He is survived by his wife, Freda Imogene Dooley Morton; his daughter, Gayla Morton Murphy (Terry); a grandson, Bryan A Dalton (Heather); grandchildren, Jonathan Murphy (Nicole), Rachael Brown (Josh); two great granddaughters, Brittany Groves (David) and Macey Dannielle Smith; four great grandchildren, Jillian and Carson Murphy, Jacob and Elyse Brown; and three great-great grandchildren, Emma, Luke and Levi Groves; a daughter-in-law, Jean Morton; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was under the care of Dialysis Center Incorporated for five years. The wonderful staff there treated him with great respect and dignity. We will be forever grateful for the extra years they gave "Uncle Al". Funeral services will be held 2 pm Tues, June 15, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Rev. Terry Z. Murphy and Rev. Bobby Cairell. Interment will follow in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 pm Tues. until the service time at the funeral home.
