A funeral mass for David James Wood will be held at 10am Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palestine with Father Jonathan Frehls officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
David James Wood, 55 of Palestine, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021 at his home. He was born June 7, 1966 in Sturgis, South Dakota to Ronald and Catherine (Gautreaux) Wood.
Mr. Wood proudly served his country and was a 21 year veteran of the US Navy. For the past 11 years he was employed by TDJC working in the Michael Unit.
Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his father Ronald Wood; and grandparents: Mina & Ernest Wood and Rosemary & Morris Gautreaux.
He is survived by his mother Catherine Wood, his daughter Kelli Wood, his sister Connie Zalesky & husband Steve, and his niece & nephew Mariah & Chris Zalesky.
