EAST LIVERPOOL – THOMAS F. LOVETT, 72, of Jackman Street, East Liverpool, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2008 at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born in Charleston, WV, on December 1, 1935, he was the son of the late Henry and Bessie Sturgle Lovett.

A lifetime area resident, he had been a truck driver, mostly with Murray Trucking and Fillmore Freight, from where he was retired.

He was a Protestant by faith.

Preceding him in death on March 12, 1999 was his wife, Juanita F. Adams Lovett.

Survivors include five daughters, Anita Lovett Cottrill of East Liverpool, Mary Haught and her husband, Mark, of East Liverpool, Elizabeth McDole of Lisbon, Elsie May Lewis of Leetonia, and Kim Allen and her husband, Frank, of East Liverpool.

There are also four sons, Thomas G. Lovett and Wade A. Lovett, both at home, and Junior Lovett of Devine, TX and Butch Lovett of Columbus.

In addition, a companion, JoAnne Dailey of Kansas, survives as well as 20 grandchildren, including three that lived with him: Alyse, Breanna and Wade Lovett, Jr. There are also eight great-grandchildren.

Three sisters also survive: Ruth Clay of Huntington, WV, Juanita VanFossen of Nevada and Katherine Dillinger of Indiana.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Lovett was also preceded in death by one son, Gary Lee Lovett, as well as two brothers, Henry Lovett and Luther Lovett, and three sisters, Georgie MacKenzie, Ava Lovett and Ora Curtis.

Friends may call at the Dawson Funeral Home on Wednesday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Norman Eckert of Beechwood Free Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in New Manchester.
