In her youth, she lived with her grandmother, Annie Strong, returning home at school age. Lisa received her formal education from Threadgill High School in Greenwood, Mississippi. She had a dynamic personality and was quite the comedian. With her dry humor, it was always a joy to be in her company. Lisa professed her faith in God and joined the Church of Christ at a young age. She enjoyed music, cooking, and good fun! She worked for many years at Collins Dream Kitchen as a cook and hostess.
Lisa was formerly married to Johnny Magee. At the time of her passing, she was committed to her life partner, Anthony Anderson, of ten years. Though she had no biological children of her own, she participated in the nurturing of many, most notably her sister, Dawn, and niece, Rena.
Lisa was preceded in death by her mother (Annie Gatson), stepfather (Elijah Gatson), father (James Taylor), sisters (Mary Terry, Brenda Funchess, and Sandra Taylor), and brothers (Charles and Stanley Taylor).
