Rose Marie Schultz, 91, Jamestown, North Dakota, passed away Monday morning, June 7th, at Ave Maria Village.

Rose was born June 1, 1930, in Dover, ND, the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Wimmer) Laber. She was raised in the Sykeston and Pettibone areas.

She married Oswald "Ozzie" Schultz September 28, 1949 in Woodworth, ND. They were married 71 years and very close in their marriage. While dating, Rosie always wore a flower in her hair when he would pick her up. They resided outside of Woodworth for a few years and eventually moved to Jamestown, ND to raise their family. She tried a couple part-time jobs but felt her full-time job was raising her four girls. She enjoyed riding horses and had a special one, Judy, which she taught to count and give kisses on command. She also enjoyed camping, playing the organ and accordion by ear, gardening and flowers. Her pride was a clematis in the front yard that bloomed profusely while kids were growing up and still continues to bloom.

Her greatest accomplishment in life was her unconditional love and care for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always made sure her daughters were dressed nice and at Easter she would have them dressed in matching dresses and bonnets. Many a times she would play outside games with the girls such as Annie-Annie-Over or doing cartwheels in the yard.

She also belonged to a special coffee group of ladies that met for approximately forty years as she enjoyed visiting with them and developed into life-long relationships.

She is survived by her three daughters, Brenda (Harry) Peterson, Debra (Mike) Arness, Jacyline (Steven Vogel) Roth; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Laber and Erika Schultz; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oswald Schultz; daughter, Peggy Schultz; parents, Andrew and Mary Laber; brothers, Raymond (infant), Bernard Laber and James Laber; sisters, Elsie Clapper, Mathilda Morlock, and Leona Albright.

Services: Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, June 11, 2021 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Lucas Holsten officiating.

Burial will be at Highland Home Cemetery.

Williams Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
