Henry "Darrel" Shelton, 77, of Danville, passed away on June 7, 2021. He was born on October 18, 1943, to Gladys Grammer Hedrick Shelton and Henry David Shelton in Pittsylvania County. He is survived by his wife, Lillian "Sue" Gatewood Shelton.
Darrel attended Nor Dan Church of Christ. He retired from Times Fiber Communications, with 30 years of service. He graduated from Virginia Tech. He also served as treasurer of Pittsylvania County Library.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Henry "Daniel" Shelton and Benjamin Shelton (Chelsea); his stepson, James Ashworth; his brothers, Malon Shelton (Dianne) and John Sherriel Shelton (Brenda); his sister, Phyllis Mills (Carroll); two grandchildren. He was also predeceased by his brother, Wayne Shelton.
Burial will be at Museville Christian Church, Chatham, Va.
