BIRTH AND ANCESTRY
Polly Ann Dungan was born about 1782 in Virginia, British Colonial America. Her father was Elisha Dungan and her mother was Hannah Borden Rogers. Her name, birthdate, and birthplace were reported in Legacy NFS. Her parentage was in Ancestry of Jeremy Clarke of Rhode Island and Dungan Family Genealogy. Polly Ann's father enlisted in the military during the American Revolution in Virginia, married Polly Ann's mother in Virginia, and owned land in Virginia. It is likely that Polly was born in Virginia. Her ancestry was from the Irish Royal Family of Dungans.
RELIGION
Her ancestors were landowners, and Protestants. Her fifth great grandfather, Sir John Patrick Dungan, requested in his Will to be buried next to his parents in the graveyard of a Church of Ireland, St John's.
MARRIAGE AND FAMILY
She married Joseph Bishop on September 28, 1809, in Kentucky. They had one son, Nelson, in Indiana in 1820, and several daughters, during their marriage.
DEATH
She was absent from Joseph's Indiana household in 1830. Polly Ann Dungan Bishop had probably died in Indiana, before 1830.
