Charlotte Edwards, age 78, of the Altapass community, passed away, Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the Mitchell House in Spruce Pine.
Born on April 6, 1943 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Bud and Ruby McGuire Biddix. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estal Edwards who passed away in 2016. Also preceding her in death was her brother; Aaron Sonny Biddix and her sister; Laura Kay Simerly.
Charlotte was a member of the Altapass of God. She spent thirty years as a hairdresser. Later she was the fudge maker at the Altapass Orchard.
Charlotte was outspoken, honest, and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and making floral arrangements.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter; Jennifer Clem and husband, Joel of Wilmington, NC; her sons; Aaron Sean Edwards of Spruce Pine and Jonathan Edwards and wife, Amy of Nebo, NC; her sister; Mary Ellen Hollifield of Spruce Pine; her grandchildren; Leah, Ian, and Zoey; several nieces and nephews.
A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm at the Altapass Church of God. The funeral service will be on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Altapass Church of God with the Rev. Cameron Smith officiating. Interment will be in the McKinney Gap Cemetery.
