Fishkill - Dorothy McKinney Bailey, 94, of Fishkill, passed peacefully in her home Friday, June 4, 2021.
She was born in Washington D.C. August 15, 1926, the daughter of Reese Vernon McKinney and Katherine Franklin McKinney. Dorothy was a homemaker however held several part-time jobs, one being at the Wappingers Falls Town Clerk Office.
On May 20, 1951, at the First Presbyterian Church, Wappingers Falls, she married the love of her life Irving F. Bailey, who predeceased her on September 14, 2015. They were married 64 years.
She is survived by her sister-in-laws Ann McKinney and Nancy McKinney and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her sisters Jean Lindh and Joyce McCann and brothers, Dorsey, Robert, Franklin and Marvin McKinney. Dorothy is also survived by lifelong friends Ethel Relyea, Ken Folster, Gloria Haydasz and Helen Zehnacker.
The family would like to thank the Hospice Care of Fishkill and Suzanne Brown for their care and helpfulness.
There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held at Wappingers Rural Cemetery on Tuesday, June 15th at 11:00. Reverend Deacon Larry Haynes will officiate.
