Lawrence J. "Larry" Long Sr., age 77, of Kent, died on Friday, December 6, 2019 at UH Portage Medical Center.
Larry was born November 10, 1942 in Morgantown, WV to Lawrence and Mary (Newkirk) Long. He was a member of Holy Family Church in Stow. Larry loved racing cars, shooting pool, bowling, playing cards and traveling. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Larry was meticulous especially in maintaining his yard and home.
He is survived by wife of 47 years, Christine Long; sons, Christopher Long, Michael Todd (Lewrie) Long and Tom (Rebecca Byrne) Lennon; daughter, Debra Bird; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sons, John Edward Lennon Jr. and Larry Long Jr; parents, Lawrence and Mary (Newkirk) Long.
A Life Celebration will be held 2:00 - 4:00 PM Tuesday, December 10th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, where calling hours will be held 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 10th. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
