Eric Sherman Powell ( 47 ) Was born in Chicago, IL on 11/20/1973 to the proud parents of Pinkie & Frank Powell of Chicago, IL.

Preceding him in death also Elmo Simion Grandmothers Beatrice Harris, Mary Powell, daughter Zarra Laws-Strickland.

Eric was the oldest of two children. Eric was lead to Christ at a early age, he later joined New Jerusalem Church Of Jesus Christ World Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Bobby Keys. Eric entered the Lord Kingdom on June 2, 2021 . Eric attended St. Anxelm Elementary School, he attended Dunbar Junior High. Eric attended Englewood High School.

Eric felt that is was his duty and honor to join the U.S. Army. Eric worked as a labor, baker at Palmar House Hotel, he also helped his father with politics.

Eric considered himself an entrepreneur, even selling tickets and clothes. Eric loves hard. He loved so much that he married 3 times. Patrice, Debra and Vanessa. Everybody Eric met had pleasant things to say about Eric, leaving them always with a smile on their faces. Eric was very intellectually intelligent. Eric had a magnetic personality and charisma and charm, he knew how to draw people.

Eric leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Vanessa, his sister Angelique Powell, Daughters Veronica (Ty) Marrs, Eriqua, Evelyn Powell, Jekailah White, Liza Taylor .His Son's Zeberida Powell, Allen Clark, Montrel Morris, Vance and Wesley Laws. His Grandfather ( Big Daddy ) Henry Powell, Aunt April Powell, Irma Scott, Uncles Henry Powell Jr, Jessie Simion, Ron Standly ( Diane), Frank Cation.

Special Friends

Vanessa Estes, Florance Gresham, his God daughter Shalita Watson, Tim Skillom, Felix Whiteside, Cloanger Tyrone , 38 Grandchildren and a host of other cousins and friends.

A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 11:00 am Thursday June 10, 2021 at Leek & Sons Funeral 304 E. Williams St., Danville. Eulogist: Pastor Bobby Keys Sr. A visitation will begin at 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow after at Danville National Cemetery.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions will be enforced.
