Phyllis was born on June 7, 1929, in Dayton, OH, a daughter of the late Aloysius and Dorothy Kammer Fischer.
She married Maynard E. White on April 11, 1953, in Indiana and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and their spouses, Donald (Edith) Fischer and Paul (Dolores) Fischer.
Phyllis is survived by a brother, Vernon "Kik" (Marjorie) Fischer of Dayton, and several nieces and nephews including, Judith (Christopher) Lang, Dona Fischer, Lois (Christopher) Demeter, Lynne Kramer, Michael (Pamela) Fischer, Mark (Kemberly) Fischer, and Jeffrey (Mary) Fischer.
Phyllis was a 1947 graduate of Saint Joseph Commercial High School in Dayton. She and Maynard owned and operated several SOHIO stations and later worked as a real estate agent at Indian Lake. Phyllis was an active member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russells Point, OH. She was also a member of Indian Lake Area Historical Society and ILDC. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, playing cards and crocheting. Phyllis was a kind and giving individual who willingly volunteered for many organizations over the years including Indian Lake Our Daily Bread.
Reverend Shawn Landenwitch will begin a memorial mass at 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at St. Mary of the Woods Church with visitation from 10-11 am. Inurnment is in Dayton Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in Phyllis's name to St. Mary of Woods Church or St. Vincent de Paul.
