Jesse Lee Hall, 78, of Carmi, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021. He was born on February 6, 1943, the son of George Aaron and Gleta (Hart) Hall.

He married Viola Mae Lamp on February 14, 1965, and she preceded him in death on October 7, 2019.

Jess was a Social Studies teacher with the Carmi White County School District. He will be remembered by those who worked with him as a man who loved his job. He made work fun and memorable. Those who had him as a teacher in school, remember his humor and dedication to his students and their education. Jess enjoyed teaching, where he was tough, but he had a large heart and always full of faith and encouragement.

Jess is survived by his brother Billy D. Hall of Michigan and two sisters, Phyllis Jean Deitz of Mt. Vernon, IL. and Patricia Ann (Gary) Harre of Saginaw, MI.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Viola Hall; his parents; his son, Jeffery Scott Hall; and two brothers, Jackie Keith Hall and Dr. John T. Hall.

Graveside services and burial for Jess Hall will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Bruce Chapel Cemetery in Carmi. Arrangements by Campbell Funeral Home.
