Archibald Havens, Civil Engineer, 82 Westhampton Beach, Jan. 24 Archibald S. Havens, 82, of Center Moriches, a civil engineer for more than 60 years, died yesterday in Dr. Keller's Hospital here.

Mr. Havens was graduated from Lafayette College* in 1889. While most of his engineering career was spent in Suffolk County, where he was the senior partner of Havens and Pelletreau of Center Moriches, he had worked also in Washington, New England and London.

He was a charter member of the Nassau-Suffolk Civil Engineers, Inc.; the Suffolk County chapter of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers and the urooKnaven Town Planning Board. He served for many years as treasurer of the First Presbyterian Church of Center Moriches and was a director of the Suffolk County Mutual Insurance Company of Southold.

He is survived by two sisters, Aimee M. and Margaret Havens, both of Center Moriches.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Mount Pleas ant Cemetery.
