She was born in Breckenridge County, KY and she was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, John and Cordie Cannon, her sisters, Hazel, Annie, Lillian, Alice and Athleen and her brothers, Joe, Marvin, Launer and Harvey Cannon.
She is survived by her son, Gary VanMeter and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 10th from 2-8pm with her funeral service at 7pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Burial and Graveside Services will be Friday 12pm Central Time at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Falls of Rough, KY, Grayson County, KY.
