Betty Jo Parrish, 87 of Franklin, passed away on May 27, 2021.

Betty was born in Macon County to the late Edgar and Maude Roper Queen.

She enjoyed sewing and was a skilled quilter. Betty found joy in being outdoors, bird watching, gardening, and taking walks with her friends.

She is survived by her children, Gary Parrish (Mary) of Bryson City; and Cheryl Harwood (Bruce) of Franklin; 2 grandchildren Stephanie Crabtree (Stephan) and Lacey Harwood; and great grandchildren Abel Crabtree, Parrish Crabtree, and Henderson Crabtree.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. "Rudolph" Parrish; and siblings, Pauline Trivetta, Bill Queen, Ted Queen, Jack Queen, and an infant brother.

A service will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Cowee Baptist Church at 3 pm.

The family will receive friends at Cowee Baptist Church at 2 pm, one hour prior to the service.

Rev. Jason Smith, Rev. Johnny Raby, and Rev. Ronnie Branson will officiate.

Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Mathis, Todd Kernicki, Ricky Queen, Steve Queen, Marty Queen, Jamie Mathis, and Cody Mathis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
