Harry K Johnson, 96, passed away at 6:55pm on Thursday, June 3, 2021, in his home with his loving wife by his side.
Harry was born August 2, 1924, in Chicago IL to Harry G. and Winifred (Sheaks) Johnson. Harry is preceded in death by his parents, brother Jimmy, sister Delores and daughter Kathy. On January 8, 1946, in Plymouth, Harry married Shirley (Harbaugh). Harry honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was an Iron Worker for 30 years for Local 292. He helped build his local American Legion Post 385 in Lapaz, IN and was an active member. He enjoyed spending time with his family and singing to the great grandchildren. He was an avid gardener and loved being outside. He was a master mushroom hunter, passing his expertise down to his children and grandchildren. He was always taking videos of his grandchildren over the years to preserve the memories he shared with them. He loved to race his "IM1" car, and many times took that victory lap with the checkered flag. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
