Services for Vernon Dean Kennedy, 74, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 4, 2021 at Oakview Cemetery in Mullin, Texas with Brother Daryl Inman officiating.

Vernon was born in McCamey, Texas on July 5, 1946 to Elias Bolton Kennedy and Sophia Ruth Gould. He married Brenda Kennedy on August 19, 1968, in Brownwood, Texas.

Vernon was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Lamkin, Texas. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, horseshoes and dancing; but his biggest love was his dog for 17 years, McQueen.

Vernon was an Army veteran.

Vernon is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda Kennedy; children, Kimberly and BJ Seider, of Priddy, Texas, Gaylon and Lori Kennedy, of Abilene, Texas, and Cindy Kennedy, of Stephenville, Texas; grandchildren, Jeremy and Lindsey Seider, Amy and Chris Weary, Desiree and Jeremy Woodyard, Cheyenne Kennedy, CJ Rosche, Shelby Kennedy, Hailee Kennedy and J.W. Kennedy; great grandchildren, Natalie, Khloe, Cayson, Charles, Hunter and soon to arrive, baby Jane Marie; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Charley Judd; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, John Beireis; and brother, Charles Kennedy.
