June Jeanette Stewart went to her heavenly home on Thursday May 27, 2021. June passed away peacefully in her home with her family and close friends by her side.

June Jeanette Willis was born on June 3rd, 1922 to Stephen & Winona Willis in Los Angeles California. June was raised by her Grandmother & Uncle, whom she loved and adored. June attended Benjamin Franklin High School where she made lifetime friends. June's first job was at Clifton's Cafeteria, where she worked along side her family. June went on to get her cosmetology license for Hair Dressing and Cosmetology in 1943.

In 1940 June met the love of her life Max Stewart at her cousin's Betty's Wedding. Their love of music and dance found them at the Figueroa Ballroom several nights a week with family and friends. In 1942 they were married in the home June grew up in & honeymooned at Lake Arrowhead. The owners of Clifton's Cafeteria gifted them their Cabin for the honeymoon. June and Max being only children wanted family more than anything and soon after June gave birth to Sharon Lee, followed by Thomas Hal, Mark Raymond & Kathleen Ann. They raised their family in the home they were so proud to watch be built at 3213 Del Amo Blvd Lakewood CA.

June was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother. June loved serving her church and served in the brail ministry, Vacation bible school, where she became known as the cookie lady. Another activity found her visiting shut in's until she was 90. Family was her joy, which included her babysitting years with several children becoming part of her family. She loved to talk about her 10 Grand Children & her 15 Great Grand Children which brought her great joy. June treasured her friendships, who she had for so many years and in later years with phone calls ending in I love you which she meant so much.

June found happiness in her crafting and sewing especially often highlighting her favorite color purple. One of Junes gifts was baking cakes and sharing them at important life events with friends. Along with her square-dancing June enjoyed her Friday night live music at Curly's with Marilyn and listening to her records play on her record player. The birthday lunches with her close friends were a special blessing through the years. June loved camping with her Husband, Children and later her grandchildren and great grandchildren. June loved her yearly trip to Carpentaria and looked forward to seeing her family and friends on the beach where we all have the fondest memories of her.

June was loving, caring, honest, always wanted to know what others needed. She was always there to listen to those who needed it. We are so blessed & thankful that she was with us for 99 years, we will miss everything she was but have memories that will never leave us.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Bethany Lutheran School in her name.
