SPENCER, Dorothy Mae. If you're about to throw away a piece of fabric, stop! Consider: Dorothy Spencer, who entered eternal life on Sunday, June 2, 2021. She was a devoted Christian and her spirit is carried on by her daughter, 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, five surviving siblings and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life.
We are blessed to learn many valuable lessons from her during her 89 years, among them: never throw anything away you never know when you might need it; only shop the sales racks; we are not here to pay full price; work hard; take care of each other and family first.
Dorothy had many passions but she loved quilting the most. You could always find her with a project finished and the next one started. She loved numbers and would watch the stock market just for fun. She would spend hours on her puzzle books always keeping her mind busy.
Dorothy was born on September 15, 1931 in Oklahoma City at the University Hospital She married the love of her life on May 31, 1950, shortly after graduation from Westville High School. They were married for 56 years before his passing in 2006.
Dorothy was reunited with her husband Leo, her parents Tom G and Nellie Mae Wood and sisters, Ema Ione and Irene Emogene.
Dorothy was a member of Choctaw First Baptist Church for many years. Her church family was so important to her and such a blessing to us all. Dorothy found so much joy with her church family and we thank each and every one of you. We have been thankful for all of the support and prayers we have received during this time
