She is a 1959 graduate of LaSalle Senior High School and graduated from Niagara County Community College. Sandy was multitalented enjoying doing crafts, making jewelry, quilting, embroidering, crossword and picture puzzles, painting, sketching, and flower gardening. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren and family whom she loved very much.

Sandy will be missed by her husband of 41 years, Franklin Rowland of Lockport; daughters, Alicia (Alan) Vieaux of Lockport and Jaime (David) Lyndaker of Holley; grandchildren, Emilie, Grace, Allison and Christopher; and her brother, Thomas Atkinson of Niagara Falls. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her brothers, James and Robert Atkinson; her first husband, Michael Kenny; and his parents, James and Andrewetta Kenny.
