Sunday morning May 23, 2021 Emily Evon Alexander of Shreveport, Louisiana accepted her Angelic Wings to her heavenly home. A true servant of the Lord. She was a faithful member of Avenue Baptist Church in Shreveport, where she proudly served as the Choir Director and Pianist under the Leadership of Pastor L.D. Scott, and her father Pastor Judge Lewis Lovelace. Emily graduated from Bishop College of Marshall, Texas with a Bachelor's Degree in Music. She was an educator for the Shreveport Public Schools where she taught American History at Bryd High School for more than thirty years. One of her proudest achievements was becoming a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She was an active member for more than fifty years. Many described Emily as (E) Energetic (V) Valued (O) Outspoken (N) Nervy Yes that was Evon. She was devoted to her family and friends and found great joy spending her last days in Virginia with her one and only beloved son Reginald Bernard Alexander. She is preceded in death by her father and mother Judge Lewis Lovelace and Helen Dansby Lovelace, brothers, Jesse Lovelace, Charles Lovelace, James Lewis Lovelace, sisters, Mary Lovelace and Aquila Lovelace William and a grandson Roderick Alexander. She is survived by her caring son, Reginald Bernard Alexander (Yvette Alexander) daughter in law and grandson Reginald Bernard Alexander Jr. great granddaughters, Lailah Alexander and Rubielle Latin and a special niece Joyce Ashford Lovelace, a sister, Equilla Williams, nephews, Jesse Lloyd Lovelace, Tavier Lovelace, Charles Lovelace Jr . and Terrance Glasgow, nieces, Snovia Lovelace and Sonia Lovelace and a best friend who was like a sister, Shirley VanDyke Ashley and many loving relatives and friends.
