Funeral services for Leon Myers will be held Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. from First United Pentecostal Church, Philadelphia, MS with Brother Tim Vowell officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service, at First United Pentecostal Church in Philadelphia, MS. Interment will be at New Harmony Baptist Cemetery.

Mr. Myers, age 91, of Philadelphia, MS passed from this life to his eternal home with Jesus on June 6, 2021 at home with his family.

He was an active member of First United Pentecostal Church. A lifelong resident of Neshoba County, he served in law enforcement as constable for 8 years. He is well known for his mechanic work at Myers Auto Repair. Riding and racing horses was a favorite of his. He loved his family and loved playing with his great-grandchildren and great-great-grandbabies.

Mr. Myers is survived by his wife of 73 years, Mary (Maggie) Myers; daughters, Dianne Taylor of Murfreesboro, TN, Debbie (Anthony) Price of Philadelphia, MS; son, Larry (Darlene) Myers of Philadelphia, MS; grandchildren, Greg (Vickie) Taylor, Amanda (Darryl) Davis, Barry (Beth Ann) Ward, Lee (Jessica) Myers, Nickie (Anthony) Lovern, Melissa (Ken) Shackelford; great- grandchildren, Chris (Matt) Brum-Taylor, Hunter and Chase Taylor, Riley, Chloe and Luke Davis, Garrett, Riley and Marleigh Myers, Rope and Aspen Lovern, Hannah (Dustin) Smith, Eli and Kase Ward, Miriam (Blake) Comans, Ethan and Noah Ferguson; great-great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Taylor and Collin Comans; brother, Lim Barrett; sister, Alma Carol McElroy; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was his father, Otha Myers; mother, Lina Myers Barrett; brothers, James, Ellis and Elvert Myers, Keythel and Cecil Barrett; sisters, Dot Sims, Peggy Barnett, JoEtta Clark, Eunice Myers, Ella Mae Rhodes and Willie Dunn, and son-in-law, Earl Taylor.

Pallbearers are Chris Taylor, Hunter Taylor, Garrett Myers, Chase Taylor, Eli Ward, Rope Lovern, Riley Myers, and Ethan Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers are Riley Davis, Luke Davis, Kase Ward and Noah Ferguson.
