Janet Irene Lane, of Covington, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021, at the age of 93. Mrs. Lane was a member of Mansfield Baptist Church; she worked in the children's church and was a member of Joy Sunday School Class. Mrs. Lane was previously a member of Avondale First Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery. Mrs. Lane enjoyed spending time outside in her vegetable garden. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Lane was preceded by her husband, Otho Lane; her daughter, Janet Rebecca Knoll; her son, Rodney Lane; her parents, Rodwell Thomas and Bessie Rebecca Buchanan; and her siblings, Kenneth Buchanan, Bradford Buchanan, Clell Buchanan, Kirby Buchanan, Marion Buchanan, Anna Hightower, Naomi Clark, Eula Wallace, Vera Shockley, Geraldine Yates, Lila Fakhoury.

Mrs. Lane is survived by her sons, Robert Lane, Russell Lane; her grandchildren, Kendra Garcia, Kenneth Knoll, Kimberly Moore, Robin Lane; her great-grandchildren, Kaden Knoll, Landry Moore; her sister, Irma Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Lane will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021, 10:00 A.M., at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington, with Dr. Jeff Perkins officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, one hour prior to her service from 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M.

Governor Brian Kemp's latest executive order has eliminated restrictions on large gatherings; however, CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public. Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services.
