Kathleen Bonnie (Carlos-Walker) Thompson born June 7, 1943 to the late George C. Carlos and Shirley Evelyn Carlos-Borowski. She is survived by her beloved husband Kenneth B. Thompson II, Children Shelly (Don) Vavro, Donald (Pamela) Walker, Jason (Gina) Walker, her brother Chris (Linda) Carlos, sister Rita (Norbert) Carlos-Kehn, her step-children, Lori Holland, Jeffery (Beth) Thompson, MariKay (Jim) McDonald and Michael (Heather) Thompson and daughter-in-law Ann Thompson. Kathy has 18 grandchildren Erin (Zack) Carlson, Robert & Emily Vavro, Joshua, Samuel, Nicholas, William, Ruby and Gus Walker, Stephanie (Jared) Moore, Kenneth IV, Clay, Spencer, Mason, Jennifer and Matthew Thompson, Hannah and Joshua Howard, adopted grandsons Innocent Nwoko and Jerry Ben, 4 great-granddaughters Milla, Abby, Caitlyn, and Ellie and great-grandson Cole Zackery Carlson expected August 2021. Kathy was predeceased by her sisters Evelyn Reynolds and Paula Pardon and her brother Kurt Carlos. She was also predeceased by her step-son Kenneth B. Thompson III and son-in-law Richard Holland. Kathy was an active member of the First Congregational Church of New Haven. She was the previous owner of Richmond Interiors, Kathy's Interiors, and Royal American Homes. She was active in the community serving as a member of the New Haven School Board, and an active Board Member of the New Haven Non-Profit Education Fund. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her gift of storytelling, her multitude of creative and artistic talents, her colorful jewelry, her love of nature, and her love of God and country. She vacuumed and ironed more than anyone we know! Most of all she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandma/yaya, sister and friend. Visitation 2:30 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Gendernalik Funeral Home. Instate at 9:30 a.m. prior to 10:00 a.m. Funeral Service on Monday, June 7, 2021 at the First Congregational Church, 58801 Main Street, New Haven. Memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church Building Fund or the New Haven Non-Profit Education Fund.
