Shreveport - Barbara Talley 85, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at the Carpenter House in Shreveport, LA. She was born March 14, 1936, in Shreveport to Howard and Marlah Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with burial following at Forest Park Cemetery West.
Mrs. Talley was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church. She was an C.E. Byrd graduate and drove a school bus for many years before becoming a horticulture teacher at the Caddo Career Center. Barbara was an active member of the Krewe of Gemini for over 25+ years, serving as the Duchess of Louisiana in 2006. She enjoyed being outside gardening and was a huge animal lover. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Mrs. Talley was preceded in death by her son, Dwayne Talley and her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Jerry Talley; two sons, Doug Talley and Donnie Talley and wife Alejandra; eight grandchildren, Bryan Talley, Scott Talley, Jessica Chase, Cynthia Talley Peace, Travis Talley, Hunter Talley, Juan Talley, and Dwayne Talley; seven great-grandchildren; Alex Wren, Karston Peace, Lorelie Talley, Scarlett Talley, Brylee Olden, Brooklyn Talley and Talley Chase; cousin, Shirley Huckabee and her daughter, Cricket Ragen, her very special friend, Bill Ward; extended family member; Kim Hover; and her fur babies, Pearl and Wendy.
