William A. Cote, Sr., 88, of Algonac formerly of Port Huron, passed away on January 2, 2017 in David's Adult Foster Care Home after a long illness.
He was born on October 13, 1928 in Detroit, son of the late Frank and Emma Cote.
Bill married June O. Broughton in 1947 in Flint. She passed away on March 2, 1993.
His main focus was taking care of his family and providing for them. June was his sweetheart and he took care of her until her passing. Bill retired from Consumer Power.
Bill is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Christine "Chris" (Michael) Cohrs of China Twp.; son, William A. Cote Jr. of Ava, Missouri; daughter, Sherry K. LaKatoes-Cote; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, John (Sonja) Maloney.
He was preceded in death by a son, John Thomas Cote and a sister, Margaret Maloney.
A Memorial Service will be at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave., Port Huron.
