Nicholas Jay Henderson, 18, passed away peacefully at Royal Vista Care Center, July 3, 2010 with family at his side. His death was the result of rare complications stemming from injuries received from an auto accident April 14, 2010.

Nicholas was born November 15, 1991 in Seattle, WA and spent his entire life in Ellensburg with his parents, Jim Henderson and Karen Galbraith. He attended Valley View Elementary, Morgan Middle School and was a 2010 graduate of Ellensburg High School.

Nicholas had a gentle, caring soul, and was the peace keeper in his family. He always looked out for and supported others, especially his brother and sister. He was a quiet and unassuming individual who always found the positive in everything and everyone.

His favorite pastimes included reading fantasy novels, competing in Magic card tournaments, playing baseball and basketball, and eating. He loved hamburgers, pizza and hot sauce! He also enjoyed learning the Japanese language and just hanging out with his friends and family.

Nicholas is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee and Alice Henderson. He is survived by his parents, dad Jim Henderson and companion Debbie Nethery, mom and step-dad Karen and Eric Galbraith, brother Tucker, sister Megan, grandparents Dale and June McNealy, Gary and Jackie Galbraith; aunts and uncles Alex & Jennifer Galbraith, Dianne & Eric Engle, Jim McNealy, Tom & Tracy Henderson, Ramona & Richard Cowman, Beth & Randy Brunson, Darcy & Ron Poulsen; cousins Justin Henderson, Brooke Harwood, Tiffany & Colton Brunson, Kristen & Nathan Poulsen, Josh & Katie Engle, Jayme Cowman and Haley Diaz.

A memorial service and reception will be held at the St. Andrews Catholic Church at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 8, 2010. Afterwards there will be a celebration of Nicholas's life at the home of Jim Henderson, 14101 Nanuem Rd.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harborview Medical Center, ICU/Trauma Unit, 325 Ninth Ave., Seattle, WA 98104; Royal Vista Nursing & Rehab 1506 Radio Road, Ellensburg, WA 98926, or Kittitas Valley Hospice, 401 E. Mt. View Avenue, Suite 3, Ellensburg, WA 98926.
