Stanley W. Lewis, 93, Sanford, Fla., died Sunday (Nov. 4, 2007).

Mr. Lewis had served as general manager of Locke Steel Chain Company in Huntington, coming here from the same company in Bridgeport, Conn. He had also served as a general manager of McIntosh Industries in Berne.

He served in the military from 1942-1945 and was stationed in England and France. He was a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Sanford, Fla. He was a 50-year Mason, a 32nd Degree Knight, and a Shriner, as well as a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and the Air Force Association.

He was born July 13, 1914, in Bridgeport, Conn., to William J. and Charlotte Beardsley Lewis. He married Ethel Waterworth on Nov. 22, 1941; they were married for 44 years before her death. His second marriage was to Dorothy R. Lewis, who also preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, David Stanley Lewis of Beaver Falls, Pa.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian, and a brother, Thomas E. Lewis.


Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Sanford, Fla., with Rev. Rory H.B. Harris and Rev. Ronald Robison officiating. Interment will follow at All Faiths Memorial Park, Casselberry, Fla.

Collison Family Funeral Homes and Crematory Gramkow Chapel, Sanford, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.
