Services for Annabelle Margaret Adams, 81, of Norman will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Brent Hardesty officiating. Burial will be at Norman IOOF Cemetery, under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service.

She was born May 4, 1926, at Sylvia, Kan., to Alfred and Opal Moran. She attended school in Stafford, Kan., graduating in 1946. She married Robert "Bob" Adams June 15, 1946, at Stafford.

She was a homemaker for the majority of their marriage. However, she was also the last telephone operator to ask "number please" in Kansas. She was active in the Church of the Nazarene, teaching Sunday school, serving as missionary president, department supervisor and assisting Bob in the SAM's Ministry. Family members shared she enjoyed working "behind the scenes" and was not comfortable being the center of attention, but she had an innate gift of hospitality allowing everyone to feel comfortable around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Robert "Bob"; two sisters, Mae Adams and June Barrett; one son, Mark; one daughter, JoNell; one grandson, Brian; and one great-granddaughter, Brianna.

She is survived by two sisters, Fern Pogue of Tucson, Ariz., and Margie Eckles and husband Jim of Halstead, Kan.; one son, Larry and wife Kitty of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Jon of Kansas City, Mo., DeeAnna Gorman and husband Rick of Oklahoma City, Kelli Naranjo and husband Tarquino of Bedford Hills, N.Y., and Tami of Middletown, N.Y.; three great-grandchildren, Savannah, McKensie and Melissa; and a number of nieces and nephews.
