Minnie was the daughter of Randall Zinn and his first wife, Jane Henry Zinn. Jane died shortly after Minnie's birth, and Minnie was reared by Jane's sister and brother-in-law, Mary and A.J. Montanye (sometimes spelled Montayne, Montague, etc).
Minnie married Jessie D. Wheeler on March 6, 1884, in Carroll County, Kentucky.
