MARGARET'S OBITUARY
Margaret Joy Roberts, 90, formerly of Booker passed away on May 31, 2021 in Odessa.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Heart Cemetery in Booker with Rev. Scott Richards, pastor of Booker United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian. Viewing will be 10:00 AM-8:00 PM Thursday and 9:00 AM-8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home in Canadian.

Joy was born in Hennessey, Oklahoma on August 28, 1930 to Robert Glen Miller and Audra McCaleb Miller. She married Jack Roberts on May 15, 1950 in Okeene, Oklahoma prior to moving to Booker where their son, George, was born. Jack passed away on August 31, 1987. While Joy lived in Okeene, Oklahoma she worked for a doctor's office and ran a telephone switchboard. Jack and Joy farmed and ranched with Lee and Vernon Schultz for most of their adult lives in Booker. Joy also worked for Vernon Schultz as a bookkeeper for 25 years. Joy and Lee Schultz spent tireless hours preparing and delivering meals to the harvest crews in the fields over the years.

Joy was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Booker. She enjoyed the horse races with Jack, who raised thoroughbred horses. One of her favorite activities was being a part of the coffee club in Booker. A group of ladies who met every morning at their favorite coffee spot. Joy recently moved to Odessa to be closer to her son and his family.
She will be missed dearly by those who knew her.

Survivors include her son, George Roberts and wife Gina of Odessa; 2 grandchildren, Brittany Neatherlin and husband Blake and Brooke Hand; 2 great grandchildren, Macy and Clayton Neatherlin; niece, Cindy Townsley and husband Mark; nephew, John Miller; and other nieces and nephews.
