Reverend Larry Wayne Harrison, 71, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on June 1, 2021.
He was born on August 4, 1949.
Larry Wayne was employed as an insurance salesman. He then started a store on wheel business. Children often referred to him as "The Ice Man." He continued this business until his retirement six months ago. His most important job, since the age of 17, was preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen Harrison and Doris E. Harrison; his step-son, Patrick McDonald; his grandson, Jacob Whritenour; and Tony Harrison and Jimmy Ray Harrison.
Larry Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Gjina McDonald-Harrison; his brother, Luther Premtiss Harrison; his sisters: Loretta Jernigan of Hamlet, N.C., Mary Connor of Lumberton, N.C., and Elizabeth Harrison of Goldsboro, N.C.; his son, Christopher Harrison (Elizabeth); his daughter, Jaida Ward; his step-daughter, Denise Whritenour (Kevin); his grandchildren: Matthew McCormick, Lucinda Harrison, Ashley Creech, Danica Whritenour, and Bella Harrison; and many nephews, nieces, great nephews, nieces, and many friends.
The funeral services will be held in East Lumberton Church of God, 100 Dresden Ave, Lumberton, North Carolina 28358. The burial services will be held at New Hollywood Cemetery, Lumberton, NC 28358.
