US Presidential Cabinet Secretary. He served as the 17th United States Secretary of Labor during the Administration of President Ronald W. Reagan (1981 to 1985). He was educated at a parochial school prior to attended Holy Trinity Seminary in Alabama and later Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans from where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. He went on to become an executive in the construction industry before serving as the Secretary of Labor. During his tenure in Washington, Donovan was investigated and cleared of any wrongdoing in regards to possible bribes he may had accepted during his years with the construction company. He resigned in 1985 after being indicted for fraud and larceny in connection with a subway construction project prior to entering office. He was eventually acquitted of all charges. He died from heart failure.
