J. B. Bowman, 69, a Grove, Okla., grocery store ownerand a native of Van
Buren, died Saturday morning, Oct. 31 im a Miami, Okla. hospital, from a
brief illness. He was a life long resident of Van Buren prior to moving
to Grove in 1950.
He leaves his wife Mrs. Lucy Bowman of the home; one son William Edward
Bowman of the Air Force stationed at Achorage, Alaska; two sisters , Mrs.
Mary Edwards of Fort Smith and Mrs. Goldie LaGrand of Firebaugh, Calif.
and two grandchildren.
The funeral service was held Thursday morning at the First Baptist church
at Grove with the pastor, Rev. Jack Randall officiating. The Worley Funeral
home was in charge of the service there.
The body was brought to Van Buren for a graveside service and burial at
Gracelawn cemetery at 3:30 p.m. that afternoon. Ocker Funeral home in charge.
