Henry T. "Hank" Harris, of Beaumont, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Harbor Hospice. He was born on May 3, 1938, in Mercedes, Texas, and grew up in San Antonio where he met his wife of 54 years, Kathy Sullivan Harris. Hank had a successful career and was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend. Throughout his life, Hank was an avid outdoorsman. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting, skeet shooting, and fishing. He played golf as frequently as he could and made many memories with his golfing buddies. Hank also enjoyed gardening and took great pride in his yard. As an active, founding member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, Hank participated in
many ministries and was always willing to serve.
Survivors include his children, Molly Raiford and her partner, Karen McAlister and Laurie Kolp and her husband, Peter, all of Beaumont; grandchildren, David Raiford II, Matthew Raiford and his wife, Jennifer, Sarah Raiford and her partner, Francisco Avila, Katie Kolp, Andrew Kolp, and Nicholas Kolp; great-grandchildren, Henry Raiford and Elizabeth Raiford; best friend and companion, Rose Durke; and Max, his beloved dog.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Harris; mother, Eva Streckfus Harris; and sister, Estelle Kellmann.
A gathering of Mr. Harris' family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 7, 2021, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont. His interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
